6 am prayer
House of Prayer will be open every morning from 6 am - 7 am for prayer during P21.
6 am Sunday Morning Men’s Prayer
House of Prayer is open every Sunday morning for men to pray together in our church sanctuary.
prayer Room
Our church has a prayer room adjacent to our lobby that is open before all church services. It is here we pray for our services, our pastor, his family, the souls coming to hear the Word of God, and the ministry of House of Prayer Church.
fasting
According to the Bible, every Christian has three duties: give, pray, and fast. Both the Old Testament and New Testament teach the value of fasting, which is abstaining from food to focus on prayer and seeking God's will. Through many examples of people in the Bible who fasted, we can know that God grants supernatural revelation and wisdom through this practice. Scripture tells us that fasting helps us grow a more intimate relationship with Christ and opens our eyes to what He wants to teach us.
Tuesday Morning Prayer
Every Tuesday morning, at 10:30 am, House of Prayer’s sanctuary is open for intercessory prayer. This prayer time begins with individual prayer followed by corporate prayer.
Intercessory Prayer Meeting
On the Last Friday of every month, House of Prayer’s sanctuary is open for intercessory prayer. This prayer time begins at 6:30 p.m. with individual prayer followed by corporate intercessory prayer.
WHY SHOULD I FAST?
PRAYER & FASTING
From Jentzen Franklin’s website jentezenfranklin.org/fastingbasics (also a great resource for more info):
“Are you in need of healing or a miracle? Do you need the tender touch of God in your life? Is there a dream inside you that only He can make possible? Are you in need of a fresh encounter? Do you desire a deeper, more intimate and powerful relationship with the Lord? Are you ready to have heightened sensitivity to the desires of God? Do you need to break away from things that hold you in a cycle of disappointment, discouragement, or sin? Is there a friend or loved one that needs Salvation? Do you desire to know God’s will for your life?”
TYPES OF FASTS
Although fasting traditionally means taking away foods and drinking only water, we want you to fast from what is appropriate for you. Maybe for health reasons, it is not safe to fast food but you can pray and ask God to show you something else meaningful to fast instead. We encourage you to identify things in your life that you usually spend a lot of time doing or thinking about and then to sacrifice for these days to use this time to pray and soak in the Word.
It could be Netflix, a partial fast each day such as not eating from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or from sun up to sundown, a one-day fast, or every other day fast. Ask God to show you what he would have you to do personally. It is very wise to remove any distractions from your life during a time of fasting such as video games, online shopping, social media etc.
Go to God in prayer and let your decisions about biblical fasting come from him. Ask him to show you areas to target during your time of fasting and prayer.
FASTING TIPS
PRAYER & FASTING
Whether you have fasted before or this is your first time, we hope these tips from Jentezen Franklin will help you as you begin your prayer and fasting.
Preparing Spiritually
Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject worldly desires that may hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).
Deciding What to Fast
The type of fasting you choose is up to you. Remember to replace that time with prayer and Bible study.
What to Expect
When abstaining from food, your body detoxifies, eliminating toxins from your system. This may cause mild discomfort such as headaches and irritability especially when fasting caffeine and sugars. And naturally, you will have hunger pains. Limit strenuous activity when possible and exercise moderately. Take time to rest. Fasting brings about miraculous results. You are following Jesus’ example when you fast. Spend time listening to praise and worship music. Pray as often as you can throughout the day. Get away from the normal distractions as much as possible and keep your heart and mind set on seeking God’s face.
How to End
Before breaking your fast, go to God in prayer and thank him for all he has done and what he will do. Thank him for this opportunity to grow in your relationship with him. Acknowledge the fast is ending and close it in prayer. Again, for those choosing to do a food fast only, don’t overeat when the time comes to end your fast. Begin eating solid food gradually; eat small portions or snacks.

May I live with a servant's heart and give to others like you did, seeking to serve and not be served, as did you. Lord, please teach me who my true enemy is and how to resist him victoriously. Help me humbly submit to you and resist the devil, defeating him. Teach me to discern the evil one's tactics and not entertain his lies in my thoughts nor be entrapped by snares. Personally: Jesus, please help me to maintain my first love and devotion to you. Let there always be a passion for you in my heart, mind, soul, and strength. Let me cherish your affection above all else. Develop in me the fruit of your Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Because I belong to you, let me live by your Spirit, not by my sinful nature, and keep me in step with you. Keep me humble and thankful, ever aware that all good things come from you, and all I accomplish is by your power.

I ask for the boldness to proclaim it all the days of my life. Set me as a light to the world. Let my hands bring you glory, and my thoughts and words give you honor. In Jesus' Name, make me an example for all believers in speech, life, love, faith, and purity.
(Josh. 1:8; Ps. 119:105; Eph. 5:8; 1 Tim. 4:12)

Personally: Jesus, protect my heart from scars caused by the trials and struggles of this life. I thank you that I am not pessimistic because of circumstances around me because I have hope and abundant life in you. Please help me to fix my eyes on what is unseen, for it is eternal. Let my eyes be enlightened to know the hope to which I am called and the riches of our glorious inheritance in the saints. Let me know the incomparable great power in us who believe. Let me see the complete revelation of who you are and what your death and resurrection mean to my life.

Please help me understand the depth of your sacrifice for me by your grace. Please speak to my heart about your concern for every detail of my life. You made me unique and precious. I am called and set apart. Teach me how to live a life as a child of the King of Kings.
(Eph. 3:18; Ps. 139)
Day 14:
School Boards and School Officials – Let every decision they make line up with your Word and bring glory to your name. Cancel the plans of the enemy to work his way into our school systems to get to our children. May you cause anyone who makes laws and rules that affect children to walk in fear of the Lord.
Personally: Jesus, in your name, I speak to low self-esteem, spirits of rebellion, and ungratefulness to have no hold on my life. The pressures of this life will not cause me to waiver from your standard of holiness and a life set apart unto you. Jesus, your power removes all guilt, envy, and shame from me. The power of your Spirit completes every plan you have for my life. Please forgive me, Father, as I forgive those who have hurt me or spoken unkind words about me. Teach me to walk in forgiveness and to love even my enemies. I thank you that I can rejoice in trials and struggles because those tests develop perseverance. I will fight the good fight and keep the faith.

Day 15:
Abused and Neglected – Please stop the abuser in the very act. Silence and stop all abuse. Protect the vulnerable and defend those who need you to be their defense. Turn abusers to you with Holy Ghost conviction and visit them in such a strong way they turn from their wicked ways.
Personally: Jesus, you said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you." Reveal the plans you have for me, plans to prosper, and give me hope and a future. Help me to trust in you with all my heart. May I acknowledge you and my paths be straight in all my ways.
(Jer. 29:11, John 14:27, James 1:5)
Day 15:
Orphan and the Widow – Become the Father to the fatherless and the comforter to the widow. Raise up your people to care for the orphan and the widow. Wipe every tear from their eyes and provide for their every need. Help us to open our doors to those who need your love.
Personally: Jesus, take my hand so that I will not fear. Lead me through difficult times, letting me know that you are near. Let me never be dismayed. You strengthen, help, and uphold me with your right hand. Make me strong and filled with courage for every task. Equip me with everything I need to fulfill your plans for me while teaching me to rely on you and not my abilities.
(Is. 40:31; Josh. 1)
Day 16:
Poor and the Hungry – be their provision and protection. Please help us to give to those in need.
Personally: Jesus, give me deep conviction and commitment to personal holiness. I am your temple. Never allow me to compromise truth but remain pure and innocent in your eyes. Lead me on the paths of righteousness and give me the power to resist temptation. May I spread the Truth in love and expose social injustice or prejudice of any kind. Gentle shepherd, protect me from harm. Do not let me stray as you keep me in your sight and care. Shield me from danger and give me a healthy mind and body. Keep me safe in the palm of your hand.
(Prov. 4:20-27; Is. 49:16; Jn. 10:11-16, 27-30)
Day 17:
Protection - Protect your people from viruses and sickness. Protect us from pandemics and environmental disasters. Protect our land as you heal our land.
Personally: Jesus, you are the almighty Father; reveal yourself to me in a powerful way. Give me a heart like David, so my faith in you will enable me to conquer the Goliaths I face. Father, dress me daily in the full armor of God. I put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet of readiness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. Lead me to pray in the Spirit on all occasions. Make me alert–able to stand firm against the forces of evil.
(1 Sam. 17:25-51; Eph. 6:10-18)
Day 18:
Families – Draw families back to you. Raise up the men as the spiritual husbands and fathers you have called them to be. Anoint wives to submit and honor their husbands. Restore and heal marriages. Strengthen families as you lead them to put you first in all they do.
Personally: Jesus, you have said, "Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him and show him my salvation." I claim these promises to my life. I love you, Jesus. Protect and deliver me and show me your salvation. Grant me favor with you and with others. Keep me from comparing myself to others and deliver me from the traps of vanity and materialism. May I pursue holiness over outward beauty and material rewards.
(Ps. 91:14-16; 2 Cor. 10:18; 1 Tim. 6:17)
Day 19:
Children – Strengthen them to live for you all the days of their lives. Draw them to you. Help them to walk in your ways and make decisions that bring you glory. Let them love you, Jesus, more than they love this world. Protect them, guide them, and keep them safe in your hand.
Personally: Jesus, when I am hurting, comfort me and draw me to your hiding place. Restore my soul. Let goodness and mercy follow me all my days, and let my cup overflow. I thank you, Lord, that I will dwell in your house forever. Jesus, bless me and make your face shine upon me and be gracious to me; turn your face toward me and give me peace.
(Ps. 23; Num. 6:24-26)
Day 20:
Missionaries – Jesus, we pray a protective covering over the missionaries you have sent out worldwide. Anoint them as they preach your gospel. Cause revival to break out in the nation you have placed them in. Use your missionaries to bring your salvation to the ends of the earth.
Personally: Jesus, help me to love as you have commanded me to love. Help me to live a life of gratitude and thanksgiving. Let me live a lifestyle of prayer and worship all the days of my life. I pray for those in authority to you that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. Flow through me, Jesus, to teach everyone I meet your saving power, bringing them to the knowledge of Truth. I worship you and you alone, the one true and living God, Jesus Christ. Thank you for giving yourself as a ransom for all.
(1 Cor. 13:4-7; 1 Tim. 2:1-6)
Day 21:
Our world – You created this world. Satan is the prince of this world, but you are the King. Reign over this world, pour out your Spirit on all mankind. Cause every tribe, tongue, and nation to call upon your name Jesus. We speak your name over every country and believe our prayers can go where we can't physically.
Personally: Jesus, I thank you that you love me. I am thankful that you forgave my sins. I thank you that you chose me. I thank you that He who is in me is greater than he that is in this world. I thank you that you help me in all things. I thank you that my praises to you silence the enemy. I thank you that you are working all things out for my good, and I trust you as I stand on your Word. Therefore, I will live and not die and declare the works of the Lord.
(John 3:16; Matt. 26:27-28; 1 Pet. 2:9; 1 John 4:4; Ps. 121; Ps. 8:1-3; Rom. 8:28; Ps. 118:17)
